I use these as my regular bath towels. It may seem a bit eccentric to some, but they dry fast, absorb well, NEVER smell, and are tough as nails. If they seem a little rough at first, keep in mind that unlike fluffy cotton towels, these will get softer as you wash them while the cotton get rougher.

The best linen towel ever, and I’ve bought many.

Tired of the soggy, musty towel hanging on the shower rod? This dries very quickly. Dont have room for the stack of fluffy towels? This thing folded up is like the size of a dish towel. Are you trying to be more minimalist, and mindful in your life? Then this is your new towel. After my first use, I immediately threw out my fluffiest towel, and put the others on notice. I may need one or two for drying the dog, or soup incidents (dont ask), but as far as shower accessories go, this is all i need. If i wasnt trying to be minimalist as possible, I'd buy another one right now. I was raised on fluffy towels, we all were - but this is a towel too. It's just different. Sure, it doesnt instantly sop all the water off you, like the sheets of fluff will. But if you mindfully dry yourself, it does the same thing. Take the extra minute or two of self care, stop rushing. Mindfully dry yourself. I take a shower, throw this over the curtain rod, and it's pretty much dry by the time I go to bed. That's awesome. If you drink your coffee black, your oatmeal with no sweetener, and you try and use just natural light as much as possible - this is certainly your new best towel. Otherwise, i'd say to be open minded and give it a shot. You may be surprised

We camp all summer long and I was struggling with towels that are always damp- these take up no space and dry super fast. Was worried that they wouldn’t absorb water when drying off but you wouldn’t know the difference. Started with 2 and I’m buying a bunch more for home! As an interior designer I’m always looking for items that appeal to the senses as well and these are beautiful!! They do shed a little in the beginning but that goes away. That didn’t bother me at all, just wanted to put that out there for people who aren’t familiar with natural linens.

Perfect travel towel. I owned an Outlier grid linen towel for a couple of years ($75) and this is better and cheaper. First off the size is just right. It wraps around your waist or torso easily with enough room to tuck it in. There's also enough substance to the towel to soak up water without being overly bulky. I hate thick cotton towels because they take forever to dry. And travel micro fiber towels (PackTowel) feel terrible on the skin and eventually smell terrible (no matter how much anti-odor treatment they put on it). This towel is super easy to hand wash—plug the sink, add water, and a little soap. Wash. To wring out just fold it in half, roll it up, and wring it. It air dries really fast. Linen is by far the best towel material. And this is the best one for the money. I use it at home, at the beach, or wherever I go.

The description says the bath towels are 59x29 and hand towels (aka kitchen or tea towels in another listing) are 29x13. I didn't think to measure when I got them, but after 4-5 washes the bath towels measure 58x26 and the hand towels are 28.5.x12.5, so not too much shrinkage. The first few times in the wash, I noticed a lot of black water in the washer, as well as a fair amount of black lint on the filter (a thin layer, but it covered the filter). I'll give them a few more washes before I decide to buy another set, to make sure they don't fade from loss of dye. Plus they're awfully expensive. As far as using them, I truly LOVE these towels. They dry way quicker than thick towels, and since I now have a ventless dryer, it makes a huge difference in dry time. Linen isn't fluffy soft, but they're soft enough (I use vinegar in lieu of fabric softener to avoid unnecessary chemicals). They also have a bit of a texture that I really like when drying off. Linen towels take a bit of getting used to, but I'm sold. I hope the black dye stops coming out in the wash because I wouldn't mind switching all my towels over to linen.

I loathe "soft, fluffy towels" for drying myself. Because they never dry, they smear. These towels DRY you off and are DRY and ready to go another round in about an hour. I live in a humid part of the US and having towels that stay damp even in the AC is a pain: - they start smelling weird, - use too much energy in the dryer, - are never ready if you need more than one shower day (because you've been in a pool / you were gardening / you exercised / you had to wash the dog). These towels are NOT your great-grandma's "scratchy linen towels" at all - not fluffy, but soft enough and thirsty as all get-out. You hang them up sodden and literally an hour later are DRY. They also take up much less room in the linen closet. They are not cheap, but they will last. And every day is a spa day.

Very pleased. Quality towel

I needed a towel to take to the gym before work. Given the limited amount of size in my bag i needed something compact and not micro-fibre (just because I can't stand that material...). This towel is perfect for my needs and way more absorbent than expected. Will order more!

I received these black dish towels for Christmas and love them. The black is a great look for either a modern or rustic kitchen, and really would work in any room in the house. You may want to wash them a few times for maximum softness and absorbency. I just wash them and hang them from the oven door handle and they dry very quickly on their own. Since I also love linen for bath towels, I purchased the 30 x 60 towel for traveling. Although I'm very happy with my purchase, I would love to see the black towel offered in a slightly different size, of about 38 x 56 inches. Linen can also be used at home, of course. I like linen towels in general just as much as regular terrycloth cotton towels, and they help you dry off better, have to be washed less, and dry much quicker than traditional cotton towels. So in addition to all the other advantages of linen, I guess you could say they're environmentally friendly. When using pure linen as a travel towel, not only do you get a quick-drying towel but you don't get the funky smell of microfiber. Plus it isn't repulsive to touch (microfiber always grabs my skin like Velcro and to me, touching it is like nails on a chalkboard). It doesn't take much room to pack, and really, it could be used as a scarf or as a blanket on a plane, not to mention a picnic cloth (another advantage over microfiber: linen doesn't grab onto every little piece of dried grass, twig, etc.; just shake it out and go). I do highly recommend these towels; not only is the black very attractive and the linen a nice quality, but the price is quite reasonable for 100 percent pure linen. I should mention that I have not had any issues at all with shedding from either the bath towel or the hand (dish) towels from this company.

The classy packaging on this product was eco-friendly and showed the company produces a quality product. The towels are awesome but do take some getting used to as the experience is much different from standard towels. It has a gentle exfoliating massage feel when drying and absorbs very quickly and completely. The towels are very thin and lightweight so they dry quickly and do not smell. Very happy that we took the chance on these towels. No regrets!

I am obsessed with this linen/flax towel set. I received these last week and can say that they are really a good product. The bath towels are a perfect size for me, they are incredibly absorbent, and they dry fast afterwards (so you don't have a damp and soggy towels in the room for hours on end). The hand towels are slightly narrower than the "normal" (~ 13" wide rather than the usual ~16") - but they suit me well and I rather prefer it. I am very happy with my purchase and can highly recommend them.

Light, dries quickly, have ordered more. I wanted a towel that was better for my fine hair and also good for travel, but didn't want microfiber due to environmental concerns. Tried two different brands for linen, and while I like the other brand for my hair, I love the waffle texture that Thing Stories has for my other towels. I did notice that two out of the three black color mix towels had loose threads in the middle (not the stitched seams) that none of the neutral/natural ones had. The brand was quick to reply, and said the threads could be snipped without any worry for the integrity of the towel, but that they would be happy to replace them if I'd prefer. So, so far, I've been happy with the towels and the brand response. I've just ordered more of the natural color for face and hand towels. I hang dry between showers, and I wash them on gentle with the same shampoo I use on my silk stuff, and I dry them on low in the dryer. I haven't noticed any shrinkage, though I could see it being a problem at higher temperatures. The waffle texture means they don't feel as rough as other new linen, and I think it looks more interesting. The only drawback I can think of is, if you're using them during cold seasons or live in a cold climate, they aren't going to be as nice and warm after a shower as our terry cotton.

Carry on approved. I got this for a trip where I didn't check baggage, so I had to pack light and this fit the bill. I hung to dry after each use and as I moved from spot to spot, it folded down very small, and is very packable. No odors. I don't dry it in the dryer, and don't plan to, but ai drying works great!

Excellent communication from Simona. Beautiful towel, nice size. Very nicely gift packaged. I think my brother will like his "urban style" linen towel. Do allow a few months if overseas; even though item shipped promptly, these are trying times.
